Down Home Recipes

Crock-pot Apple Butterr  Cook 1 peck Ida Red, Cortland or Macintosh apples into sauce. ADD:  *3 c. sugar ½ brown sugar, *½ c. apple cider vinegar, *2 tsp. cinnamon, *pinch of salt. Spice to taste. Cover. Cook on High until boil. Remove cover and cook 6 hours; occasionally stir. Fill clean, hot jars within ½ inch of top and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 10 mins.  SEE MORE RECIPES

Fresh Apple Caker 
*3 eggs, *1 c. salad oil, 2 c. granulated sugar, 2 c. self-rising flour, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 c. chopped nuts, 4 c. chopped or grated apples.  Combine eggs and oil; beat until foamy. ADD  sugar; beat until light and thick. Combine dry infredients; stir into batter. ADD vanilla, nuts and apples; blend well by hand. Pour into greased 13”x9”dish. Bake at 350 degrees 40-50 mins.  SEE MORE RECIPES

Apple Saladr 
*8 medium apples. Core and dice unpeeled apples. Place in weak saltwater to prevent turning brown. MIX: ½ c. raisins, *½  c. thinly sliced carrots, *½ c. coconut, *½ c. walnuts, ¼ c. miniature marshmallows. For dressing MIX: *¼ c. peanut butter, *¼  c. milk or cream, *½ c. sugar, *½ c. mayonnaise. Drain apples well.  ADD remaining ingredients. Pour dressing over salad.  NOTE: Red Delicious apples are best. Grapes, bananas and celery can also be added.  SEE MORE RECIPES
